Choral Workshops Methodist Church Hall, Newbury Newbury Choral Society runs an annual choral workshop. Always an enjoyable occasion, our workshops improve your vocal technique and widen your horizons through meeting and working with other singers. Our last workshop was directed by Robert Houssart, Assistant Director of Music at Gloucester Cathedral. Robert went to St Johns, Oxford as an Organ Scholar and graduated with a double first in Music. At Gloucester Cathedral Robert plays at the daily service and trains the cathedral choir and the recently formed youth choir. He also directs the St Cecilia singers, Gloucestershire's premier chamber choir, and is much in demand as an organist, accompanist, and choral conductor. The format was slightly different, looking at four shorter pieces, including Lotti : Crucifixus and Victoria : O quam gloriosum The date and programme for the next workshop will be announced later in the year and will definitely be an opportunity not to be missed.
