We are a large,
non-auditioned choir that has performed a wide and varied repertoire
from Mozart to Tavener for over 120 years. We aspire to a high
musical standard and aim to thrill our concert audiences.
Joined by professional musicians such as the renowned chamber
orchestra
London Concertante,
we perform three concerts a year in the Newbury area. Our
regular venues are St Nicolas Church, Newbury and the beautiful
Abbey Church at Douai Abbey, Woolhampton.
We hope you enjoy browsing our website and look
forward to welcoming you at our rehearsals or at our next concert .

Our
recent season proved to be an exciting one for
performers and audiences. The programme was varied
and innovative, and built on the success of our
previous concerts.
In
November we presented Puccini's Messa di Gloria,
a setting of the mass with all the drama and
theatricality you would expect from the master of opera.
Staying with this theme, our March concert featured
choruses from well-known operas, a diverse selection
including Verdi's Aida, Borodin's
Prince Igor and Bizet's Carmen to name but a
few. The programme for our final concert of the
season was Haydn's Creation and took
place in the region's most atmospheric venue, the Abbey
Church at Douai.
Please see the Concerts and Events page for dates and
times, and make sure you get them in your diaries!
